Enclosed by long stretches of 16th. century walls, Città di Castello presents elegant Renaissance architecture, visible in the courtyards and arcades of the noble palaces, in the cloisters and naves of the churches: from the monumental Cathedral with its treasures to Saint Mary Major, Holy Mary of Grace, St. Francis and St. Domenic.

An absolute must to see in this small town are the masterpieces of Raphael, Luca Signorelli and Alberto Burri, one of the great masters of International contemporary art, a native of Città di Castello.
